Billy McFarland did his first stand-up set on Kill Tony
The Fyre Festival organizer worked prison time and a second festival into a one minute debut.
Billy McFarland, the disgraced Fyre Festival organizer, did his first ever stand-up appearance on Kill Tony episode 788, recorded 9/28/2026. The guests that night were Wheeler Walker Jr. and Sam Tripoli. Tony Hinchcliffe closed the set with "Billy McFarland, ladies and gentlemen, with his first ever standup appearance."
McFarland went straight at the thing everyone was waiting for. He compared his own path to comedians grinding twenty years for a Netflix special and landed on the line that he only had to serve four. He told the room that when things do not go right, you just have to ask for some more money. He also told Hinchcliffe he is one cheese sandwich away from that jail cell.
The second festival bit
McFarland said he recently went back to a small island in Honduras to do another festival, and that everybody told him he did not learn any lessons. His position on that, roughly, is that they are wrong. He also offered a defence of his event planning that doubles as an insult, telling the crowd that if he had organised it, they would still be stuck at the airport, so be a little grateful.
Hinchcliffe set the whole thing up by admitting he has consumed every bit of Fyre content going, saying he has watched three, four, five, every documentary about this thing that has ever happened. Which is the real reason the booking works. The audience already knows the story beat for beat, so McFarland does not have to explain anything, he just has to confirm it.
Everything else on 788
David Lucas talked about his recent Kill Tony appearance and said he thought Sam Tripoli and Wheeler Walker were going to give him a little bit more, because he hates roasting people who do not say anything back, since then it starts to feel like bullying. Lucas also gave the best description of the format anyone has managed, calling a minute on that stage a sixty second special that cements a joke into history for as long as YouTube exists.
Wheeler Walker Jr. said he and Donnell Rawlings are in the DMs about opening dates and that Rawlings has been collabing and commenting on his stuff. Walker announced the Moody Center on New Year's Eve and a Las Vegas date on November 13th. Sam Tripoli, now out of Los Angeles, said the place looks like a meteor hit it and that he does not miss it.
The show also pushed Kill Tony Plus, five bucks a month for every new episode ad free and uncensored.
I only had to serve four, so I guess I'm doing something right
anytime you do Kill Tony, it's like a 60-second special, bro.
