Kimberly Congdon will fight Josie Marcellino at Skankfest
The nomination process Gomez ran earlier in the week produced an opponent, and then a date correction.
Luis J. Gomez has an opponent. He posted that Congdon vs Marcellino is on, tagging Skankfest NYC, Kimberly Congdon and Josie Marcellino in the announcement. Then he tacked on a correction, saying sorry, it is 2026.

That fills the slot he opened earlier in the week, when he was taking nominations for someone to fight Marcellino. The open call worked. Congdon is the name that came out the other end.
What the post actually says
Not much, and that is the point. Four words of news, three tags, one link, and a follow up line correcting the year. Gomez did not post a card, a weight class, a card position or a set of rules. He posted that it is happening and that people should see him at Skankfest.
The correction is the part worth reading twice. Gomez writing "Sorry it's 2026" means the fight is not on this year's festival. It is booked for next year's. Anybody who read the first line and started pricing a flight got a very quick reality check from the man announcing his own event.
The real story
This is Skankfest booking itself the way Skankfest books everything, in public, on the timeline, with the audience doing part of the work. Gomez asked who should fight Josie Marcellino, people answered, and days later there is a name and a festival attached to it. No press release, no undercard, no confirmation from either fighter in the post itself.
What is not in the post is everything else. No venue, no date beyond the year, no word on which city Skankfest lands in, and nothing from Congdon or Marcellino about whether they are as into this as Gomez is. The tags are the only sign they have been looped in at all.
So the state of play is simple. A fight got announced, the year got corrected, and the rest of it is still a blank page that Gomez will presumably fill in one post at a time.
