Mystery Boys call Dave Smith an anti-Semite to his face
Dave Smith came on willingly, signed the certificate, and argued the Israel stuff out anyway.
Kurt Metzger and Duncan Trussell booked Dave Smith on Mystery Boys, called him an anti-Semite before he could get settled, and made him sign a Certificate of Appreciation. The episode is FILE_18, titled "Rabbi Dave Smith Fails The Anti-Semite Test", and the certificate bit is a joke, not a verdict. Smith, who hosts Part of the Problem, sat there and took it.
Metzger's framing up top was that they had the Part of the Problem host on because he is an anti-Semite and they were going to take him to task. Smith did not spend the hour apologizing. He said Zionism is the strongest trauma based mind control he has ever personally seen, and said he has had his finger on the pulse of Zionist propaganda over the last year.
The Roseanne bit
The most human moment came when Smith addressed Roseanne Barr, who has called him anti-Semitic. His answer was that he does not care how much you hate me, I love you. Metzger's contribution was that Barr was raised Orthodox Jewish and Mormon, and that she told him so at Thanksgiving.
The rest of the episode goes exactly where a Metzger and Trussell episode goes. Smith talked about his ex-wife Jenna and a settlement, said Candace Owens probably moved people in her direction in their debate, and argued the Pulse nightclub shooting was a story about blowback terrorism caused by American foreign policy. Then Dr. Heather Lynn turned up for Sumerian tablets, the symbolism of Trump's ear injury, and a reading of Charlie Kirk's death as a ritual. Metzger closed with a bit about TikTok serving a 24 year old ninth grader ads for gun suppressors dressed up as kitchen utensils.
Elsewhere in pods
On Bad Friends episode 339, Bobby Lee and Andrew Schulz had Rudy Mancuso on. Mancuso said he is taking a break from performing at the Comedy Store and may retire if his upcoming Hulu special does not perform, while also promising the special is going to be exceptional beyond measure.
