Gomez bets $1000 over who was in his Legion of Skanks story
Matthew Sobalvarro says he is already hunting for the clip that collects.
Luis J. Gomez has put $1000 on the table over a story he says he never told.
It started when @mattsobalvarro accused him of telling a false story on Legion of Skanks, the one where Gomez bleeds on a woman during sex. Sobalvarro says the woman in the story was really Kim Congdon, and that Gomez knew the version he told was false. Gomez says that is simply wrong.
The bet
Gomez's reply was short and expensive. He offered $1000, today, to anyone who can produce video of him saying the woman was Kim. No questions asked.
His own version names someone else. Gomez says the story was about Kerryn and that Sobalvarro is misremembering it. He also says the story was never submitted for Story Warz and was only told as an aside, because Kerryn would have known it already. Story Warz is the storytelling show we covered earlier with Oakerson and Gomez on the bill.
When Sobalvarro added more detail to the accusation, Gomez pushed back on that too. He said the descriptions were way off and that he has never done coke with Kim. Not once, ever.
Why the bet is still live
Sobalvarro is not folding. He says another viewer found a different episode where Gomez talked about it, and that he is going back to clip it. His message to Gomez was that his ass better pay up, with a laughing emoji attached, so the whole thing is being run at roughly the temperature of a bar argument rather than a lawsuit.
He also offered a reason he missed the Kerryn version. Sobalvarro says he does not watch episodes with Kerryn on them, no offense to her, because the guys spend too much time drooling over her when Kim is obviously the hotter one. That is a joke, or at least it is delivered as one.
The real story is that nobody has produced the clip yet. Gomez has an exact name, Kerryn, and a reason the story stayed off the Story Warz list. Sobalvarro has a memory, a second viewer and a plan to go find the receipt. Until that clip lands, it is one guy's recollection against another guy's grand.
If the clip does exist, it is the cheapest $1000 anyone in comedy will make this week. If it does not, Gomez gets to keep the money and the story.
If you can show me video of me saying this was Kim, I will give you $1000 today no questions asked.
