Luis J. Gomez says Grok will answer his trolls, then doesn't
A one-line jab turned into an all day reply thread, an AI outsourcing plan and a request for Grok to name a winner.
Luis J. Gomez spent a day in his own replies again, and this time he tried to hire a robot to do it for him.
It started with one line. Luis posted lol @ right wingers cheering for handouts and let the replies pile up. Somewhere in the pile up he announced a new house rule, writing that moving forward he would be using @grok exclusively to reply to trolls and burner accounts. Clean idea. Outsource the noise to the AI, keep your thumbs free, never read a burner account again.

The policy lasted about as long as you'd guess
He broke it himself. One reply guy opened with the words if you understand how the economy works, which is the internet equivalent of tapping a bear on the shoulder, and Luis answered in full. He wrote that low income people generally spend a larger percentage of additional income while higher income people save a larger percentage, and that money deposited in a bank does not disappear from the economy because banks use the revenue to fund lending and other economic activity. That is not a Grok reply. That is a man typing.
By the end of the day he was back in a thread with @cliff_craig17 and Grok, thanking Grok, conceding that he and @cliff_craig17 were missing each other's jokes, and then immediately asking the bot who's winning this argument. No verdict from Grok turns up in his posts, so the scoreboard stays blank.
The real story
The Grok policy reads like half a bit and half an actual plan, and it collapsed the second someone said something wrong about the economy. Luis likes the replies. That is the whole engine. Announcing that a chatbot will handle your trolls is a great way to say you are above it while staying in there all afternoon, and then using the same chatbot as a referee for a fight you swore you were not having.
Worth noting he never claimed the policy was permanent, and the last post is him asking Grok to call a winner rather than letting it argue for him. Either way, the thread is the day. One line about handouts, a plan to never argue again, a lecture about marginal propensity to spend, and a polite thank you to an AI.
If you want the tidy version, Luis invented a system to avoid reply guys and then personally answered a reply guy within hours. The system is fine. The user is the problem.
Moving forward I will be using @grok exclusively to reply to trolls and burner accounts.
