Pushed on the number, Gomez defended it with volume. "There are hundreds of thousands of podcasts. I think 1 out of 100 is more than a fair assessment," he wrote. Gomez tagged Grok and asked for a ruling, writing that he claimed he could out box 99% of podcasters and that he was sure there was no actual publicly recorded number of podcasters, but did Grok think the assessment was accurate. Asking an AI to fact check your own boxing record is a new way to win an argument on the internet.
Then it escalated
A reply offered him a broader version of the claim and he took it. "This is also accurate. If you don't train in combat sports I can likely out box you," Gomez wrote, which quietly expands the field from podcasters to roughly everyone reading.
From there he went where these things always go. "I will outbox Any 11 year-old on the planet," he posted. Every single one. No weight classes mentioned.

Someone tried to knock him off it by switching sports and bringing up basketball. Gomez did not take the bait, replying that he has never claimed to be able to play basketball and that playing with balls is for children and your mom. Narrow your claims and you never lose.
The real story
Nobody in any of these posts proposed an actual fight. No opponent stepped up, no date got floated, no podcaster volunteered to be part of the 1%. That is the tell. This is a bit Gomez is enjoying, built on a number nobody can verify, defended with a statistic he admits does not exist in any public record.
The funniest part is the process. He made a claim, got challenged, cited population data, called in an AI referee, accepted an upgrade to his own boast, and then offered to fight a child.
