Luis Gomez kills the Skankfest pay-per-view
After five years of streams, Gomez says the pay-per-view kept people home instead of selling tickets.
Skankfest will not have pay-per-view streams this year. Luis J. Gomez said so in his replies, and his reasoning was money and logistics. The streams are "too expensive to produce, and logistically makes the festival that much more difficult to organize", he wrote.
That ends a five year run. Gomez pointed out they did live streams for Skankfest five years in a row, and that the podcasts taped at the festival are still coming out either way. His argument is that the stream was never the marketing tool people assume it is.

Gomez put it flatly. The pay-per-view did not hype the festival, and if anything it gave people a reason to stay home instead of buying a ticket. That is a real business call rather than a bit, and he defended it in plain terms rather than dressing it up.
So the trade is simple. You lose the couch option, you keep the shows, and the tapings still land in podcast feeds later.

The other answer in his replies was shorter and spicier. On the subject of a Legion of Skanks versus MSSP round two, Gomez said the challenge already went out and has not been picked up.
"We challenged them at Skankfest and they are scared", he wrote. That is one side of the story, from the guy who wants the rematch booked, so treat it as Gomez talking rather than a settled fact. There is no response from the other side in what he posted.

The read here is that this is how the fight gets made. You do not get a rematch by sending an email, you get one by saying in public that the other guys are ducking you and letting the replies do the rest.

Gomez is also in the ring himself. He posted that he is fighting CJ Bishop on Friday and entering the Royal Rumble on Sunday, and that he is planning on winning both.
He is selling the smaller stuff too. Asked about food, Gomez named Fleur De Lis Cafe as his favorite breakfast spot, said he is pumped for the grits, and promised that food at Skankfest this year is getting a major upgrade.
That is the whole pitch in one day of replies. No stream, better food, a fight card with Gomez on it, and a rival podcast crew he says will not show up.
