Theo Von's Netflix hour I'm Doing Fine lands October 20
The special has a name, a date and a trailer, and still no word from Von.
Theo Von has a new Netflix hour called I'm Doing Fine, and it premieres October 20.
The Netflix listing is live now, with a trailer already up and multiple subtitle options attached to it. That is the full extent of the rollout so far. A title card, a date, and a trailer sitting on a title page for anyone who goes looking for it.
No announcement, just a page
What is missing is Von. There is no post from him about the special in anything we have seen, no countdown, no poster drop, no clip. The news is coming from fans who found the page, which is a strange way for one of the biggest podcast names in comedy to put out an hour.
It also means the title is doing all the talking. I'm Doing Fine is the kind of phrase that only ever gets said by someone being asked if they are fine, which is either a very good joke or an accident. Until there is an actual promo push, that is all anyone has to read into.
What to do with it
If you want a look before the 20th, the trailer is on the title page and it is subtitled in a stack of languages, which is Netflix's way of saying this is a global release rather than a quiet dump. Specials that get the full subtitle treatment are usually ones the platform expects to travel.
Von's week has not been short of material either. He had NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani in the chair on This Past Weekend recently, which is the kind of booking that puts a host in front of people who have never heard him tell a joke on a stage. An hour landing a few weeks later is good timing, whether or not anyone planned it that way.
Mark the date. October 20, Netflix, no further instructions provided.
