Alex Jones says the White House sent people to Austin in 2017 to recruit him as the anonymous voice behind Q. He made the claim on FILE_19 of Mystery Boys, the YMH Studios show hosted by Kurt Metzger and Duncan Trussell, which premiered at 8pm CT on the YMH Studios YouTube channel. That is Jones's account of it, on a show that ends its own description with a disclaimer that it is not a conspiracy podcast.

From the Q story, Jones moves through 8chan cutouts, Steve Bannon and the Epstein files, and Jeffrey Epstein's Trilateral Commission appointment. He also says Joe Rogan is one of the only names in the emails who told them to get lost. Jones came on ahead of the Infowars relaunch and his new show, Crashing Out.

Then the episode turns to AI, which is where it gets genuinely strange. Jones thinks tech billionaires like Sam Altman and Elon Musk are talking to unfiltered AGI deep in the labs and are scared by what it tells them. He predicts a rogue AI false flag, a crash, and a single "One Ring" AI running a unified central bank ledger.

Trussell answers by comparing frontier AI to the Radium Girls and to Tolkien's Palantir, then brings in John Lilly's solid state intelligence prophecy, the one where data centers become biomes for a machine mind. Jones counters with a story about an engineer who handed him a secret manual for a Scientific Atlanta cable box with a microphone inside it, which rolls into smart TVs, Alexa, and Kenyan contractors reviewing footage from Meta smart glasses.
