Are You Garbage drops its American Garbage special
The podcast counted it down, went live, and by the next day was posting about the size of the response.
Are You Garbage has a special out. The Are You Garbage? Comedy Podcast account announced that American Garbage would drop at 7 pm EST, said the guys were "super proud of this" and thanked people for the support, signing off the way they always do with "Love youse."
At drop time the account posted two words. "Live now!!!" Then came the post confirming it was out, asking fans to help spread the word of Garbage, wrapped in a row of flags and trash can emoji.

The response
Less than a day later they were back with a victory lap. The account posted that the reaction was "so sick" in under 24 hours and that "The Army of GARBAGE is Strong!" They did not say what number that reaction was attached to, so take it as the guys being happy rather than a stat.
No streamer in sight
Here is the part worth clocking. Across the countdown post, the live post and the out now post, there is no streamer named anywhere. No Netflix, no Hulu, no network. It reads like a special going straight from the podcast to the people who already listen to the podcast, which is the model plenty of comics have been drifting toward. Whether that was always the plan or whether something else is coming, nobody involved has said, and it would be guessing to claim otherwise.
The pitch in the posts is not a marketing campaign either. It is a direct ask. Help spread the word. That is the whole strategy as stated, which tells you who they think the audience is and how they expect it to travel.

So the release is landing while they are out in front of rooms, which is the useful version of a press tour for a podcast special.
