Luis Gomez says he can outbox 99% of podcasters

Luis J. Gomez spent the week telling his replies he can outbox 99 percent of podcasters, then offered to fight any 11 year old on earth. Mark Normand answered the Lindsay Clancy jury news with two words, and Are You Garbage finally dropped their special.

The big stuff

Luis Gomez says he can outbox 99% of podcasters, and any 11-year-old

One line turned into a whole week. Luis went from "I can outbox 99% of podcasters" to asking Grok if that was an accurate assessment, to the softer "If you don't train in combat sports I can likely out box you," to offering to box any 11 year old on the planet. Running next to it: a new tattoo captioned #34Life, plus a note that "The head is the least painful place for a tattoo."

Mark Normand answers the Lindsay Clancy jury news with a two-word pun

The post Normand quoted said the only juror who voted to convict Lindsay Clancy of murdering her children was the jury's only Black man. Normand's full response: "Hung jury." Pappas went at it from another angle, quoting a post about a juror's comment with a line about whose children they were.

Bits and clips

Mark Normand's week was two one-liners: second responders and naan binary

No setup, no thread, just two lines. "You never hear about the second responders," then "Gender fluid Indian = naan binary." He also posted an old clip captioned "Never forget this joke."

Specials, tours and podcasts

Are You Garbage dropped its American Garbage special

The podcast said American Garbage would land at 7 pm EST and that the guys are "super proud of" it. Then came the post saying it is out now, with a plea to spread the word. Under 24 hours later they were back to say the response was "so sick" and that "The Army of GARBAGE is Strong!"

Beef and callouts

Big Jay Oakerson says Lisa Lampanelli accused him of stealing her joke

Oakerson posted the claim with a screenshot and a link to his live dates. He never said which joke. Lampanelli has not posted about it in our window, and nobody else has jumped in.

Quick hits

Jim Norton and Jeff Dye both dunk on Ryan Reynolds' 80s nostalgia quote

Variety posted Ryan Reynolds saying 80s nostalgia "paves over all the trauma" of a decade he calls brutal and scary. Jim Norton went dry and reverent about heeding a learned man's words. Jeff Dye went after the premise with a Ninja Turtles counterexample.

Sam Morril says his new Netflix special lands 9/29

Morril posted a trailer with four words of context: new special, 9/29, Netflix. That is the entire announcement. No title, no venue.

Kill Tony back with Duncan Trussell and Kurt Metzger

Brian Redban announced a brand new Kill Tony at 8PM CST with Tony Hinchcliffe, Redban, the regulars and the band. Special guests: Duncan Trussell and Kurt Metzger. The show's account also posted a ticket link for 9/9 at 12PM.

No Skankfest pay-per-view this year, and Luis is fighting at Skankfights

Luis J. Gomez said there will be no pay-per-view streams for Skankfest this year. Too expensive to produce, he said, and they make the festival harder to organize, plus he thinks the PPV keeps people from showing up live. He is also fighting CJ Bishop on Friday at Skankfights and entering the Royal Rumble on Sunday.
