Big Jay Oakerson says Lisa Lampanelli accused him of theft
One post, one screenshot, no word on which joke it was.
Big Jay Oakerson told his followers that Lisa Lampanelli says he stole her joke. He posted it with a screenshot and a link, and then he plugged his tour in the same breath. The whole post is eleven words and a sales pitch.
He never said which joke. He never said when it supposedly happened, or where, or what Lampanelli's evidence is. The screenshot is the only receipt in the post, and the rest of the message is the two words comics use when they want the conversation to end somewhere profitable, which is see me live.
What we actually know
One side has spoken. Lampanelli has not posted about it in the window we track, and no other comic has stepped in to take a position, defend a bit, or point at a tape. That makes this a claim about a claim, and worth treating that way until somebody produces a clip.
That is also the tell in how Oakerson framed it. He did not write a paragraph about his integrity. He did not name the joke so people could go compare versions. He treated an accusation of joke theft as a setup line, then landed on the plug, which is the same move a comic makes with a heckler who just handed him a gift.
Why it might go nowhere
Joke theft fights between working comics tend to break one of two ways. Either both sides post their tape and the whole thing burns out inside a day, or it turns into a running grudge that gets brought up on podcasts for a year. Right now this one has no second voice, so there is nothing to argue with.
We wrote about the post when it landed, and nothing has moved since. If Lampanelli answers, this becomes a story with two sides and a specific joke at the center of it. If she does not, it stays what it is now, which is a tour ad with a good hook on the front.
