Luis J. Gomez posted a two line joke about blades. The setup is him on skates. The punchline is his father, and it goes somewhere else entirely.

The shape of it
It is a setup and a turn and nothing else. Line one is harmless. Line two takes the same word and drops it somewhere no reader saw coming. There is no explanation attached, no thread, no context about when or why. The joke is the whole post.
The sign off is doing real work too. "Folks!" is the comic stepping out from behind the bit and pointing at it, the verbal equivalent of a hand wave at the crowd after a line lands hard. It tells you Gomez knows exactly how dark the second sentence is. He is not apologising for it. He is presenting it.
Read it as a joke
Nothing in the post says this is a true story about his father, and there is no way to treat it as one. It is a one liner built on a pun, posted without comment. Anyone reading the second sentence as reporting is reading it wrong.
This is the mode Gomez works in on his timeline, short punchy posts that live or die in two lines and get thrown out with no follow up.
