Luis J. Gomez says Skankfights is two weeks out
The Halloween greeting came with a countdown and a promise to dominate.
Luis J. Gomez spent Halloween doing promo. He posted a holiday greeting that turned into a countdown, telling followers it is "2 weeks till I dominate at Skankfights," with an attached image.
That is the whole post, and it is doing two jobs at once. One is the date. Two weeks is close enough that anyone who was planning to decide later is now deciding now. The other is the framing. Gomez is not saying he will appear at Skankfights or host Skankfights. He is saying he will dominate it, which is the kind of line that only works if people show up to check.
What Skankfights actually is
Gomez did not explain it in the post, and we are not going to guess at a card, a venue or a lineup that he has not named. What we have is the name, the countdown and the brag. Anything else is somebody filling in blanks.
What we can say is that the timing lines up with the Skanks world being busy. Skankfest X is the next big one on the calendar, and we covered the New Orleans dates in an earlier story. Gomez has also been the center of more than one Skanks storyline lately, from the lawsuit he says he can finally talk about to a Story Warz run opposite Big Jay Oakerson.
The real story
Gomez is one of the better self promoters in this corner of comedy, and the Halloween post is a small clinic in it. No poster dump, no thread, no link spam. Just a holiday hook, a number and a boast, posted on a day when everyone is already scrolling.
The boast is also a bit, or at least it is wearing bit clothes. Gomez saying he will dominate anything is a pose he has been running for years, and the comedy of it is that the outcome is not really the point. The pose sells the ticket. Whether he actually dominates is a thing people will argue about afterward on a podcast, which is also the pose working.
If you follow the Gas Digital side of comedy, this is your reminder that the countdown has started. If you do not, it is a decent example of how these events get sold, which is not with a press release but with one guy on X saying he is going to win.
