Luis J. Gomez saw a Halloween photo of a man who dressed his wife and his side piece as Thing 1 and Thing 2, and he had exactly one reaction.

The photo got to him through @acemahogany, who posted under the name Jung Pope and tagged Gomez on the picture with a question of his own. "Which one is he playing?" he asked. Gomez did not answer that part, which is probably the correct move.

Why this one landed
It is a very Gomez bit in the sense that the joke is the salute. He is not dragging the guy. He is not defending the wife. He is treating a Dr. Seuss costume setup as a feat of logistics and tipping his cap to the man who pulled it off.
It is worth saying plainly that none of this is reporting. Gomez is riffing on a photo somebody sent him. The sources do not name the man, the wife, the side piece, or the party. There is no confirmation that the premise in the caption is even true, and nobody involved is claiming it is anything other than a picture that made two comedians laugh.
What it does tell you is how Gomez's timeline runs when he is not in a fight. This is the same account that spent part of the month getting broken by a jar of mystery mustard in the mail. Between the Skanks studio drama and the Skankfest build, the man still stops to appreciate a costume.
