Sam Morril's Incorrect is live on Netflix

The New York Times review landed the same day, and Morril pointed his followers straight at it.

Sam Morril's new special Incorrect is out. He posted that it is on Netflix now, which is the whole announcement, no rollout, no countdown, just the link.

The New York Times Arts account put up its review the same day. Their critic's read is that the special is built out of lowlife stories that do not always make Morril look good, and that the not looking good is the point. That is a compliment in Morril's world, where the joke usually works because he is the one taking the hit.

He shared the review himself

Morril did not leave the write up for other people to find. He posted about the special going live and added that there was a cool write up in the New York Times, which is a confident move for a review whose main line is that the stories do not flatter him.

He has been fine with looking bad for a while. Earlier this month he told the story of bombing at a private gig in Corfu, which is not the kind of anecdote most comics volunteer in the run up to a Netflix release.

What is actually worth your time

The special is streaming, so there is nothing to wait for. If you have watched Morril before you know the register, tight jokes delivered flat, usually at his own expense. If you have not, the Times review is the short version of what you are getting.

The real story is the tone of the launch. A special drops, a major paper reviews it on day one, and the comic's contribution to the conversation is two short posts. No feud, no discourse, no thread about what comedy is allowed to be in 2026. Just the special and a link to somebody else's opinion of it.
