Skankfest is leaving New Orleans for 2027, Luis Gomez says
A deal is signed for a new city, and he is not saying which one yet.
Skankfest is not coming back to New Orleans in 2027. Luis J. Gomez posted that the festival has signed a deal for a new location, one it has never been to, and that the result will not look like any Skankfest before it. He did not say which city.
That is the whole announcement, and the missing piece is the part everybody wants. No city, no venue, no dates, no lineup. Just a signed deal and a promise that things are about to change.
What he actually said
The post is four short sentences. Gomez says they are definitely not returning to NOLA in 2027, that a deal is just signed, that the new location is somewhere the festival has never been, and that it is going to be very different than any Skankfest they have ever done. He closes with "Shit's gonna get crazy."
He does not explain what different means. Different could be the size, the format, the time of year, the setup, or all of it. Gomez left that blank on purpose, which is a fairly reliable sign that more is coming when he is ready to say it.
