Harland Williams sells three sniffs for $22.99 on First Date

Harland Williams went on Lauren Compton's First Date podcast and announced he is hosting a 1 a.m. event where people pay to smell him. He framed it the way a painter frames a gallery night. Artists do a showing of their works, he said, so he is doing a smelling.

The pricing is where it gets specific. Admission is $22.99, and for that you get three deep sniffs and one quick whiff. Take the whole thing as a bit. This is his third appearance on the show, the episode is titled "Why Do Women Start Arguments?", and he is in character from the top.

The hot dog incident

The other running story is his ex-girlfriend. Williams says he went to a movie a few months ago, asked her if she wanted a snack, she got a drink, he ordered a hot dog, and the whole night turned into a fight over the hot dog. He says he eventually told her straight that she instigates fights out of nowhere for no reason.

He also tells the story of how they got back together, which involves getting heckled from the audience at a club years later and realizing the heckler was her. Compton counters with her own "I love you" story, the one where the guy said it casually, she said it back with full eye contact, and he responded with "Oh, shit."

Austin is off

Williams has decided against moving to Austin, and the reason is Pauly Shore. He says Shore told a made up story on his show that went viral, then asked to come back on and clear it up, and Williams told him he was definitely not coming back on. Now that Shore is in Austin, Williams figures he can see him anytime, so he is staying put.

The rest of the hour is safari material. He says he got mock charged by a silverback gorilla in Rwanda, which sounds like the scary part until he describes two male lions, one of which stood up, took five steps toward the Land Rover and stared at him. That, he says, was worse than the gorilla. He then floats the idea of jumping out and rushing them so he can be known as Harland Williams, lion killer.

He also mentions a new AI animated series called the Art Avengers, about neighborhood kids who use art skills as superpowers, made with his buddy Steve Williams and his friend Paul. No word on whether the sniffing gallery gets a tie-in.
