Cops read Sam Morril's joke notebook out loud, he says

Sam Morril says police in New Orleans found his joke notebook while handcuffing him for smoking a blunt, and read the material out loud. He told the story to Christina P on Your Mom's House Ep. 881, the episode titled "The Cops Read My Joke Notebook w/ Sam Morril." By his account the reading went on for four minutes.

The punchline is that it worked out. Morril says another detainee told him the jokes were so bad that they accidentally spared him a cocaine search. Nothing confirms that beyond Morril's own telling, which is the only version anyone has.

The rest of the episode

It is a light one. Morril talks about touring Europe, including Budapest's Terror House Museum and the world's oldest Ferris wheel in Vienna, which dates to 1897. He says he taped his new Netflix special at Tampa Theater, a venue with an 1,100 capacity. That special, Incorrect, just dropped.

The actual beef on the episode is not Morril's. Christina P goes after Garth Brooks, after the hosts play clips of Brooks awkwardly introducing himself to Facebook from a hotel bed. Christina says the National Enquirer reported Brooks is "livid" about her mocking him, and she repeatedly promises, on mic, not to perform a sex act on him. She says she has beef with him. Brooks has not responded in anything cited here.

There is also a rat segment. Morril says he had a rat in his home, and now people send him rat stories in his DMs. One of them was Louis C.K., asking whether poop from his apartment was rat droppings. It was mouse poop.

Christina on the divorce

Christina talks about her divorce and about working the material out on stage, and says a striking number of married people have confessed to her that they either want divorces or are cheating. She said earlier this month that she is single after separating from Tom Segura.

The two also compare celebrity crushes, Ryan Gosling for her, Matthew McConaughey in the mix. Morril says he got into a huge fight with his girlfriend because she said Gosling sucks. And they remember doing Is It Cake? together with Mikey Day, which Christina says is the only thing her niece has ever seen her do.

No feud, no fallout, just a comedian admitting his early notebook was bad enough to be read aloud by law enforcement and survive the experience.
