Sam Morril posts eight words about Incorrect

No numbers, no screenshots of a chart, just a thank you and a nudge.

Sam Morril thanked people for watching his special and asked them to keep going. The whole post is eight words. "Thanks for watching. Let's keep climbing."

That is it. No chart screenshot, no ranking, no list of cities, no tagged streamer. For a comic with a new special out, that is close to the minimum viable post.

What he is nudging

The special is Incorrect, which landed on Netflix earlier. The post reads like a man who has seen the numbers and would like them to be bigger. "Let's keep climbing" is the tell. You do not say climbing unless you are watching something move.

It is also very on brand for how Morril handles a win. No exclamation points. No thread. One line, posted, done. Plenty of comics would have turned the same moment into a two paragraph gratitude essay about the road and the craft. He used fewer words than a text message.

The real story

Special week is not really over when the special drops. It is over when people stop pressing play, and the window where a comic can still move that is short. The post is a small, polite poke at that window. Watch it, tell someone, keep it moving.

Morril has been everywhere lately, which is what the run up to a release looks like. He has been on the podcast circuit telling stories against himself, including the time he bombed at a private gig in Corfu and his explanation of why calling his girlfriend an idiot is, in his telling, good for the relationship. Then the special arrives and the man who talks for an hour at a time gets his point across in eight words.

If you have not watched Incorrect yet, that post was aimed at you.
